Technology & System Specialist

In my role, I’m responsible for system support and management of all IT projects within LION Safety. I’ve been with Lion Safety for over 8 years, and in that time had the privilege of working in every department. This has given me a very thorough understanding of how a business operates from end to end, meaning that I’m well-placed to ensure systems we implement really benefit external and internal customers. Back in 2015/2016, I spent nearly 2 months in the West Indies on 2 different trips, helping 7 businesses consolidate into 1, and implement a new software system. Making data come to life in a clear, concise, logical manner is my focus. I really enjoy swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking in the summer. I’m a self-taught guitarist, and I enjoy getting on the piano (usually my de-stressing go-to!).

Financial Controller

In my role as Financial Controller I am involved in all aspects of financial reporting, monthly and annually, and in day to day finance support and governance. I became a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) in 2002 and trained in Audit with PwC Newcastle for three years until qualified. I also hold a B.Sc. in Forensic and Analytical Chemistry from Strathclyde University. I have worked in finance since qualifying in accountancy, across different industries including FMCG, retail, property, and in the not for profit sector producing both management information and statutory accounts. As Mum to two school aged boys, spare time is family time. Before Covid, travel was the main activity outside of work. In recent years I visited Rome, Venice, Oxford, Cornwall, Palma, Segovia, Amsterdam, Dublin and Florida.

My role within the Finance Team involves overseeing the daily financial activities (debt collecting, invoice processing, and numerous other tasks) within the business. I assist with finance reports and reconciling account balances (Customers, Suppliers and Bank). In my spare time I enjoy walking, cooking and spending time with friends and family.
