Who is Scotland Excel?
Scotland Excel is the Centre of Procurement Expertise for Scotland’s local authorities and government sector where resources are available for members, suppliers and anybody interested in public sector procurement.
Scotland Excel work by developing and managing collaborative contracts for products and services where a common requirement is identified in the public sector.
Crown Commercial Service
What lots (contracts) does LION have with S.E?
Lion Safety is on the Personal Protective Equipment framework, which is the Scotland Excel contract number 0621. This allows the whole public sector in Scotland, including 32 local authorities, all NHS health boards and social care, and emergency services, to procure their PPE requirements through the framework.
This contract runs from March 2022 until March 2026.
We are on this framework for the following lots:
Lot 2 – Safety Masks & Respirators
Lot 3 – Gloves
Lot 4 – High Visibility Wear and Protective Workwear
Lot 5 – Traditional Workwear
Lot 6 – Footwear
Lot 7- Catering and Food Industry
Lot 8 – Pandemic Recovery Items (including PPE)
Who is Crown Commercial Service?
The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) brings together policy, advice and direct buying; providing commercial services to the public sector and saving money for the taxpayer.
They have brought policy, advice and direct buying together in a single organisation to
- make savings for customers in both central government and the wider public sector
- achieve maximum value from every commercial relationship
- improve the quality of service delivery for common goods and services across the government
The Crown Commercial Service works with over 17,000 customer organisations in the public sector and our services are provided by more than 5,000 suppliers.
CCS is an executive agency, sponsored by the Cabinet Office.
What lots (contracts) does LION have with Crown Commercial Service?
Lion Safety was awarded a place on the Building Materials and Equipment framework in 2021, which is contract reference RM6157, under Lot 7, Personal Protective Equipment. This contract expires on the 26th of July, 2025.
This is the sole PPE contract that Crown Commercial Service run, which is open to the whole of the public sector in the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales.
